I got a call today from DCFS to inform me, that after my birthday next month, I lose my benefits through the state. So, not only did I not get the job I desperately needed, but now as of the 15th I have no health, vision or dental coverage. -_-

Well, as some of you know, I've been really trying to get this a better job. I applied for this position over 6 months ago, had solid references, and a contact in the company. Well, Friday I get a call "Hey, you didn't get the position you applied for, but we do have an opening for $10.40 an hour." Mind you, I've worked under that table for years making twice that. Having to drive half as far. But, I sucked up my pride and said "Okay, just let me come in and have a look at your offer letter." So, this morning, I wake up at 6, get dressed, jump in the truck and go. I get there (having no idea where I'm supposed to be) So, I look around, finally I find it, and sit and wait to be acknowledged. 15 minutes later "Can I help you?" "Yeah, my names Frank, I'm here for my offer letter." So she goes and gets a stack of papers, and prints off three forms, hands me the three forms and hands me the forms. One was the offer letter, two were consent forms. The offer letter consisted of my would be job title, and wage and some legal jargon about the company. I ask "Is that the benefit info, and job description?" She says "Yes" so, I ask "I get to look them over before I sign?" "No, you'll see them after you sign." So, I left. That is some really sketchy shit if you ask me. I have no hopes that this will work out, which sucks, but it is, what it is. Thanks everyone who helped me out and everything.

Wow! That is crazy! If they did not have something to hide they should have let you read what you are signing for. You will find something soon I think. And for better money.

That is really sketchy. They were probably just going to have you sign and then fuck you over and not give you what you thought you'd be getting. Have you sign up for making 10.40 an hour and the paperwork says like 8.40 or something.



It'll be okay. Everything happens for a reason, and you'll see this job wasn't meant for you because you'll get a better one that makes you happier and is better for what you're looking for.
